ENGL 3701 Bodies of Humanities
Course on the critical analyses of representations of health and illness in literature and other media. Textual and visual arts from perspectives as diverse as classical philosophy (e.g., Melancholia: A transhistorical exploration of melancholy), the history of medicine, psychoanalysis, neuroscience, and critical race theories. Materials are drawn from a range of media including literature, theater, visual art, and film.
