ENGL 3055 African Literatures

Study of major works of African literature from a variety of cultures and countries; examination of cultural and aesthetic issues in work by such writers as Tutuola, Achebe, Emecheta, Fugard, and Soyinka. Examines such issues as the role of languages, colonialism and postcolonialism, global health crises and identity.
