BUS 4980 Strategic Management

This capstone course for seniors integrates functional knowledge acquired throughout the major (economics, accounting, finance, marketing, management, etc.). This course introduces the concept of strategic management and considers the basic direction and goals of an organization, the general, industry, and competitor environments, and organizational resources and capabilities. The focus is on creating sustained success through strategy formulation and execution in different types of firms and industries. Topics include: strategic planning, industry analysis, diversification, as well as ethics, social responsibility, and sustainability in strategic decision-making. A minumum grade of 'C' is required to pass. Prerequisite: Senior standing.
