Accelerated BA/BS to OTD (4+2)
The Accelerated OTD program is a full-time, in-person day program at our San Rafael, CA location. The first summer includes online courses, while fieldwork and doctoral capstone experiences, which are based in the community, occur in the second and third summers. The course requirements for this accelerated program leading to a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy can be accomplished by completing the major requirements through various majors including but not limited to: Psychology (BS), Biological Sciences (BS), Global Public Health (BS), Communications and Media (BA), History (BA), International Studies, Political Science (BA) and the following OT requirements.
Eligible students can complete the first year of OTD courses during their senior year. To qualify, students must complete all major degree requirements by the end of their junior year and have a recommended GPA of 3.0 in the last 60 units. A minimum of 40 volunteer hours is required, with at least 20 hours under a licensed OT. A GPA of 3.0 in prerequisite courses is recommended. Prerequisites include Human Anatomy, Physiology, Lifespan Development, Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Statistics, and Medical Terminology.
