OT 6020 Assistive Technology in Occupational Therapy

Assistive Technology (AT) applications throughout the lifespan, ranging from low to high tech will be presented, discussed and examined through an evidence based lens. AT will be studied through the concepts of universal design and social models of disability. Occupational therapy clinical reasoning inclusive of AT will be emphasized including the role and application of activity analysis and assessment results interpretation. The interprofessional and collaborative aspects of AT practice will be emphasized throughout the course and connections with community AT experts - 3 lecture hours. Prerequisites: OT 4012/OTL 4012 or OT 6012/OTL 6012.
