Tech Requirements
Student Electronic Device and Software Requirements for Clinical Nursing Program Testing
Background
With the general expansion of available digital technologies to support learning, nursing faculty members review and selectively adopt those technological tools that have been determined to support student success and continuous program improvement. In Fall 2020, the nursing department adopted the ExamSoft computerized testing platform as its primary method for administering and analyzing student examinations. Students also use electronic devices for the Kaplan NCLEX Preparation program, course-related work and communications, and other curricular and co-curricular activities. Students need to access sufficient, compatible hardware and software to make effective use of these necessary applications.
Policy
Upon admission to the clinical nursing program, students are required to access compatible hardware and software (i.e. operating systems, internet browsers, and relevant applications) that enables use of the ExamSoft online portal and the Examplify application, including downloads.
Procedures
- Refer to Examplify Minimum System Requirements (with ExamID) for details:https://examsoft.com/resources/examplify-minimum-system-requirements
- Accessibility includes purchasing, borrowing, or renting the required device
- If a student cannot acquire a compatible device with the appropriate operating system, they are referred to:
- Their course instructors for arrangements to test on an enabled device on campus (*this option may require students to be available for on-campus testing outside of regular class hours)
