Communication and Media Studies (BA, Minor)
The Communication and Media Studies major prepares ethically responsible students and skillful communicators able to navigate an increasingly media-saturated, diverse, and complex global environment. Strategic and applied communication are the hallmarks of our program. We cultivate a collaborative, hands-on learning environment, in which graduates create a digital portfolio featuring a variety of multimedia they have produced including videos, podcasts, live radio shows, and news and media content for campus organizations and the larger community. Internships with corporate and non-profit organizations and student-generated signature work are key components of the major. Most importantly, students in this program develop everyday communication competency skills necessary for personal and professional success.
