POL 3304 Political Parties and Interest Groups

Study of the decline of parties and the rise of interest groups in the American political system and an analysis of the role of each in the policy making process. The strategies interest groups use to influence the political process are covered along with the concept of political pluralism. Close attention is given to party in the government, party in the electorate, and party organization. Special attention is given to elections and political behavior.
