RLGN 3076 Religion & Social Movements

This course examines the important role of religion in movements for social change. Primary focus will be on movements for economic and racial justice in the United States. Students will explore principles of nonviolence, religious art and culture, theological concepts, and faith communities in relation to social movements. Practical experience will be gained through engagement with community organizations that address structural oppression and advocate for social justice.
