ENGL 3051 Latinx Literatures
Study of significant works by Latin American writers, including both well-established and emerging authors. The course focuses on social and historical movements, framing Latin America through a hemispheric perspective and emphasizing the embodied experience of colonialism across diverse territories such as the US, Mexico, Guatemala, and Brazil. It covers artistic movements such as the feminist literary wave in Mexico, the intersection of disability and poetry, and queer Chicanx literature in the US, through an eclectic mix of prose, poetry, and film.
