ENGL 2000 Advanced Writing & Research: Literary Theory
What is literature and what are its uses? This course introduces students to foundational works of literary criticism and explores key theories that drive the study of literature, exploring the mediations between self and other, humans and nonhumans, technologies, and environments, as well as social inequities on the bases of race, gender, sexuality, class, and ability. Satisfies the Effective Communication 2 Core area with a 'C' (2.0) or higher. Prerequisite: passing Effective Communication 1 or its equivalent with a grade of 'C' (2.0) or higher.
