ENGL 3069 Latina/o American Literature

Study of writings of Latina/o authors from a diversity of national origins and newer immigration from Central and South America: Dominican, El Salvadorian, Guatemalan, Venezuelan, Nicaragua, and others. The course examines contemporary forms of literature, Latina/o themes relating to historical, cultural, and societal issues, such as sense of place, oral tradition, family, love, migration and exile, gender, identity.
