HIST 1701 Ethnicity and Race in United States History

This course explores 500 years of American history by examining the stories and contributions of non-Anglo and non-European migrations, including but not limited to the perspective Native Americans of pre Columbian times; from the perspective of African-Americans from the 17th – 20th centuries; from the perspective of Asian peoples such as the Chinese-Americans and Japanese Americans of the 19th – 20th century migrations; and how this reflects the cultural diversity of the United States today. Meets nursing requirements. This course only satisfies the CORE requirement when offered as a service learning course.
