KIN 4994 Teaching Assistant: Kinesiology

This course provides supervised instructional support experience in an undergraduate course within the Natural Sciences. Students assist with laboratory or classroom activities, preparation of instructional materials, facilitation of learning activities, and support of student engagement under faculty supervision. Responsibilities may include assisting during class sessions, supporting laboratory setup and safety, tutoring or mentoring students, and contributing to course organization. Emphasis is placed on professional communication, instructional responsibility, ethical conduct, and effective collaboration. Course expectations and scope of responsibilities are defined through a learning agreement approved by the supervising faculty member and department. Course may be taken for 1-4 units. 1 unit equals 45 hours. Prerequisites: a grade of 'B' or higher, an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher, and consent of the instructor. Contract required. Course may be repeated for credit.
