Performance Psychology for First Responders (Certificate)
The Performance Psychology for First Responders (PPFR) Certificate provides students with the main theoretical approaches, principles and methods of sport and performance psychology, with a focus on applying these concepts and techniques to their work as first responders. It is for individuals who currently work in first responder settings (e.g., police officers, firefighters, emergency medical technicians and paramedics, and 911 dispatchers). Alternatively, it can be taken by those who aim to work in such settings, and would like to further their education and expertise in mental skills training as it pertains to first responders. The courses in this Certificate may be taken for a grade or Pass/No Pass. The coursework includes a total of 14 units of instruction.
A grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 is required for successful completion of the certificate.
