CP 5222 Research in Human Systems and Treatment Outcomes
This course will survey the philosophical, epistemological and methodological components necessary to conduct research and articulate treatment outcomes within the field of Counseling Psychology. Qualitative and quantitative research designs will be covered along with their methods of data analysis and concomitant ethical guidelines. Students will utilize the library databases to examine current research and formulate a research design. The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th ed.) will be utilized as a guideline for communicating research findings. Students not enrolled in the Counseling Psychology program must have recommendations from current professors and apply to the Department Chair who in consultation with the instructor may provide approval.
