POL 3400 The American Legal System
We believe that our US society is governed by the 'rule of law.' This sounds simple, but in fact we have separate federal and state court judiciaries, different procedures for criminal and civil offenses, and we are subject to a patchwork of constitutional, statutory, administrative and case law requirements. This course takes the deep dive intended to provide a full understanding of how 'the rule of law' truly works in America. (American Politics and Society Designated, Law and Society Designated)
