HONO 3203 Empires and Colonization

History of the world’s empires and colonies, with special emphasis on 1500 to the present-day. This course discusses political, economic, and social developments throughout the past five centuries emphasizing patterns of authority, the individual, nature, society, and technology as they relate to the historical principles of "Empire" and "Colony." This course will cover an assemblage of regional histories and analyze their linkages within the Empire-Colonial systems.
