Tech Requirements for Occupational Therapy Program
General Requirements
Background: Occupational therapy students are required to do a significant amount of course-related work, communications, and other curricular and co-curricular activities using technology. As such, students must have access to adequate hardware, software and access to internet based programs. University Resources for technology and access: Contact OT Dept. Chair.
Ergonomics: Occupational therapy students are recommended to follow ergonomic guidelines to assist them with safe computing techniques. Examsoft Requirements*
Background: In Fall 2020, the Occupational Therapy department and the School of Health and Natural Sciences adopted the ExamSoft computerized testing platform as its primary method for administering and analyzing student examinations.
*Policy: Upon admission to the clinical portion of the occupational therapy program, students are required to access compatible hardware and software (i.e. operating systems, internet browsers, and relevant applications) that enables use of the ExamSoft online portal and the Examplify application.
Requirements:
- Access ExamSoft and Exemplify via Internet. List of compatible devices and browsers: https://examsoft.com/resources/examplify-minimum-system-requirements
- Accessibility includes purchasing, borrowing, or renting the required device
- If a student cannot acquire a compatible device with the appropriate operating system, they are referred to:
- Their course instructors for arrangements to test on an enabled device on campus (*this option may require students to be available for on-campus testing outside of regular class hours)
- Department/university administrators for assistance in obtaining a compatible device
