OT 5227 Occupational Therapy Treatment for Pediatric Feeding Difficulties
A primary area of practice for occupational therapists is supporting safe and appropriate oral feeding for children and addressing feeding difficulties. This course will focus on basic swallowing physiology, typical development of oral feeding skills, and strategies to improve oral feeding success for infant and pediatric clients. Students will have the opportunity to use information learned in this course, for several interactive case studies, to better solidify learning. Prerequisites:
OT 5016 (with a passing grade) and
OT 5116 (may be taken concurrently), or consent by instructor. Special Topic Course for OT majors only.
