MUS 5301 Music History and Literature

A comprehensive survey of music history and examination of music literature from antiquity to the present with an exploration of cultural ideas, the church’s influence upon music, the sociopolitical implications connected to music, with emphasis on pivotal compositions of each era. The course is open to all students.
