MATH 1350 Quantitative Reasoning
This course will introduce students to the processes by which valid inferences may be drawn from quantitative data. Topics are chosen from logic, counting techniques and algebraic manipulation, linear modeling, elementary topics in statistics, including descriptive statistics and regression, summary and presentation of data, and other suitable areas. Material will generally be presented in a setting that allows students to participate in the discovery and development of important mathematical ideas and conclusions with emphasis on using mathematics for problem solving - 3 lecture hours. Purchase of a specific brand and model of a graphing calculator is required. Prerequisite: satisfactory score on the Adult Degree Completion Program mathematics placement exam.
