HONO 2200 Effective Communication 2: Global Communications and Images
Global Communication and Images offers an eye-opening exploration of written and visual communication modes from the past to present. Topics include: symbol systems; data visualization; messaging; and the effective creation, analysis, and manipulation of texts and images. Designed to enhance student awareness of and ability to navigate as effective communicators in today’s poly-modal world. Course builds upon the skills developed in
HONO 1100 with an emphasis on: the histories of written/visual communication in global contexts; the lives of texts, images, people, civilizations, artifacts, and built environments; and how written/visual practices have shaped values, experience, identity, and social action in the past and present. Students must complete this course with a 'C' (2.0) or higher to fulfill the second CORE requirement in Effective Communication. Prerequisite:
HONO 1100.
