BIO 4220 Medical Parasitology
A basic course which considers parasitism as one of the most prevalent biological interactions. The principles discussed are structural, evolutionary, and physiological adaptations to parasitism as well as host specificity, immunity, parasitic life cycles. Living and fixed representative species are examined in the laboratory. The course primarily focuses on parasites of biomedical and veterinary interest - 3 lecture hours.
