EDU 1000 Introduction to Teaching
An opportunity for students interested in becoming elementary school teachers to explore the nature and purpose of schooling. Students examine their motivation for teaching, the diversity inherent in the student population, and the characteristics of effective teaching. Students participate in five hours of observation in local schools, observe teachers in action, and learn to utilize educational technology while building their own professional websites. Students create a lesson plan using the California History/Social Science Framework. Fall semesters.
