MATH 3500 Advanced Statistics

A study of statistical techniques and their applications in the sciences. Topics include experimental design, analysis of variance, and linear regression. The course also considers multiple regression and many specialized multiple regression techniques including time series, logistic regression, survival analysis, and Cox proportional hazard regression. All of these techniques are illustrated by specific applications in medicine, various sciences, and social sciences - 4 lecture hours. Prerequisite: MATH 1500 with a grade of 'C' (2.0) or better or sufficient score on mathematics placement exam. MATH 3500 is a CORE Equivalent Course which may be substituted for the Quantitative Literacy and Social Issues CORE requirement.
