HIST 3002 The Globe Part 1: Ancient to Early Modern Times

This course explores how early human cultures of ancient foraging societies were transformed into complex agrarian civilizations, primarily in Afro-Eurasia and the Americas, from 3500 BCE � 1500 CE, eventually emerging as early modern civilizations before the Industrial Revolution of the mid-18 th century. This course will incorporate the tools and perspectives of geographic study in order to stress how world history includes the study of the geographic diversity between natural landscapes and physical environments with various world cultures and human societies. This course will stress the California state history standards for Education and History Majors and is linked to HIST 3003: The Globe Part 2.
