EDU 1001 Explorations in Teaching
An opportunity for students interested in becoming elementary school teachers to further explore the nature and purpose of schooling. Students participate in fifteen hours of observation in local schools, observe exemplary teachers in action, and learn to utilize educational technology while building their own professional websites. Students create a lesson plan and present it to their peers based on the California Next Generation Science Standards. Students also learn basic presentation skills through introduction to acting activities. Spring semesters.
