BUS 1005 Economics

The course introduces the fundamental theories of microeconomics, macroeconomics, and environmental�economics. The first part of the course focuses on microeconomic analysis including, the behavior of consumers and firms, demand and supply, opportunity cost, market structures, and decision making for efficient results. The second part moves on to macroeconomic concepts such as national production,�economic�growth, employment, inflation, the role of government regulation, monetary policy, and fiscal policy. The last portion of the course deals with techniques that relate to depletion and degradation of natural systems and their components, including land, energy, air water, and biodiversity.
