BIO 3610 General Microbiology

In-depth study of cell structure, cell metabolism, and genetics of microorganisms. Also, microbial pathogenesis and host defense mechanisms are included. Emphasis is placed on molecular microbiology including the study of bacterial gene expression, DNA replication, and recombinant DNA mechanisms - 3 lecture hours. Prerequisites: BIO 2800/BIO 2805 and BIO 2900/BIO 2905 or consent of the instructor.
