POL 3565 Women in Politics

This course explores the role of women in politics around the world. Special focus is applied to women in executive and legislative leadership roles in government. Students will employ relevant social science theories and methods to examine the institutional, structural, and cultural differences in electoral systems for select countries. The comparative analysis educates on the success and challenges that women face in reaching high office. The course culminates with a research project to be presented at an undergraduate academic conference. (International Politics and Policy Designated, Research Designated)
