POL 3411 Constitutional Criminal Procedure

This course addresses various constitutional criminal procedure issues such as 4th Amendment unreasonable searches and seizures, 5th Amendment compulsory self-incrimination and double jeopardy, and 6th Amendment trial by jury and assistance of counsel. In addition to exploring the development of the Supreme Court’s treatment of constitutional criminal procedure, the course will also venture into an analysis of broader social, economic, and political issues within the criminal justice system.
