ENGL 3414 Acting and Stagecraft

Immersed in the study of dramaturgy, scenic language, and mise en scène, a company of student actors and technicians mount a production of a theatrical work. Exploring the social, political, and cultural histories of a given script, students spend a semester connecting text to context by designing, staging, and rehearsing for mainstage production. Throughout the creative process, students critically reflect on how meaning is transmitted through performance in the translation from page to stage. **This course may have specific scheduling needs to accommodate the rehearsal process.**
