Public Health (Minor)
Health begins long before you need medical care. Health begins where we live, learn, work and play. Public health is community health and examines issues of well-being and social equity in resource-limited communities, as well as issues that move irrespective of national boundaries, like pandemics. The minor is designed to set students on a path to community awareness and global consciousness by embracing a view of health beyond the healthcare setting. The minor is a good fit with any major including, nursing, biology, psychology, and many more. Students will gain the skills to apply their public health knowledge to their major. Students are also welcome to participate in guided research and community partnership experiences with public health faculty.
