ART 1016 Drawing: A Contemporary Approach
In this course students learn, explore, and apply drawing methods and concepts that are relevant to contemporary art practices and the present generation of artists. A series of assignments involving fundamental steps and diverse techniques develop proficiency in drawing, observation, handling drawing media, as well as fostering self-confidence in creative expression using art elements. Students will be introduced to a full spectrum of drawing practices in order to make connections between contemporary drawing and art created in different cultures and periods of time including international artists, ethnic artists, and self-taught artists.
