NURS 2500 Global Health Nursing & Healthcare
In this introductory course, students examine and explore nursing and healthcare delivery in a resource constrained environment. Access to quality healthcare, economic and material resources vary widely among geographic regions. This course will consist of active engagement with a village health team in providing health assessments and care to the Batwa community, community discussion, people-to-people interactions, observations, debriefings, and readings. Students will use intercultural knowledge in implementing care to individuals and families or in implementing community based interventions. Pre- and post-practicum mandatory classes will take place through Dominican University California using a hybrid system of content delivery.
