HONO 3201 International Relations: Conflict and Cooperation

This course is an introduction to the field of international relations. Students will articulate and critically evaluate the dominant theories of international relations, including realism, liberalism, Marxism, constructivism, and feminism in their application to real world problems. The course provides a general overview of the methodologies relevant to the analysis of the modern world system, its institutions, as well as individual, group, and state behavior. Students will start out with a review of modern history to be able to identify and reflect on timely global political economy and security issues, in preparation for the completion of a community engagement project.
