ARTH 3116 Antiquity, Archaeology and the Modern World

How do we assess, understand, and preserve the cultural heritage of the past in the present? This course focuses on the complex issues and politics of archaeological/visual studies of ancient eras from a global perspective: "Who owns Antiquity?" Course involves not only a detailed study of ancient civilizations and their continued influence on the modern world but also an investigation of how modes of preserving the past can influence the future.
