LCS 3266 Pacific Islander American Literature
Writings of Pacific Islander American authors from a diversity of island heritages: Hawaiian, Samoan, Guamian/Chamorro, Tahitian, Tongan, Mariana Islander, and others. Covering prose and poetry, the course examines themes relating to historical, cultural, and social issues such as family, gender, identity, island life, mainland life, acculturation, and colonialism.
