OT 6153 Professional Identity III: OT as Change Agent

The third course in a five-semester series on professional identity focuses on acquiring knowledge about healthcare systems, policy, and advocacy as essential components of developing the role of advocate within the professional identity of an occupational therapist. Students will examine policy and regulatory issues impacting the health and well-being of individuals and populations, as well as the systems and funding mechanisms within healthcare, education, and community-based organizations. This course provides foundational knowledge to empower students to engage in effective advocacy as a critical part of occupational therapy practice- 2 lecture hours. Prerequisites: OT 6152.
